Submissions Closed and Weekly Report Updated
The Codabench submission portal for SAPC2 is now closed. Thank you to all teams for your active participation! The 2026-11-01 weekly report has been posted. It covers all submissions evaluated as of October 31, 2026, around 5:00 PM US Central Time. At that time, 122 submissions made before the deadline were still waiting to be evaluated; as of the morning of November 1, 113 of them remain in the queue (69 on Track 1, 44 on Track 2). Final rankings will be based on test2 results and will be announced once every pending submission has been evaluated.

Codabench Is Back: Final Deadline October 30, 2026 (AoE)
Codabench was restored on October 26 after the outage that began on October 21. The competition deadline is therefore extended to October 30, 2026 (AoE). Submissions that were pending during the outage have been re-queued by the organizers and will be evaluated, so there is no need to resubmit them.

Notice: Codabench Outage and Deadline Extension
Codabench has been unreachable since October 21 because its university network is blocking HTTP/HTTPS traffic (details). The deadline is extended by one day per day of outage, currently to October 26, 2026 (AoE), and no later than October 31, 2026 (AoE) due to the workshop timeline. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Update: Final-Week Submission Limit
Evaluation is running several days behind due to the high volume of submissions. For the final week, the Codabench daily submission limit has been reduced from 3 to 1. Final results will be announced only after every submission made before the deadline (October 24, 2026, AoE) has been evaluated.

Notice: Handling of Stalled Submissions
Due to intermittent Codabench backend errors, a submission may occasionally be lost from the queue and stay at "Submitted" or "Preparing". We regularly resubmit these in the background, but cannot do so for deleted submissions. See the FAQs for details.

The 2026-10-10 weekly report has been posted. Weekly reports are the official leaderboard record; the live Codabench leaderboards are no longer linked. See the Leaderboard page for all reports.

Workshop Paper Submission Site Open
The OpenReview submission site for SAPC2 workshop papers is now open. See the Call for Papers for details. Submission deadline: October 31, 2026 (AoE)

Update: Track 2 Submission Rejection Policy
Track 2 submissions whose Pass 1 (batch) and Pass 2 (streaming) final transcripts differ will now be rejected. In addition, the first-word rejection rule is changed from the stable sentence-prefix match rate to early first-word emission: a submission is rejected if, on more than 5% of Test1 streaming utterances, its first word has already settled before speech begins (TTFT-stable < 0). Update: Track 2 Latency Metric (TTFT → TTFT-stable)
To mitigate potential reward-hacking risk, the Time To First Token (TTFT) metric is upgraded to TTFT-stable, which measures the earliest timestamp where the hypothesis’s first word has already settled to its final value. In addition, submissions will be rejected if their stable sentence-prefix match rate falls below 1/3. (Superseded on 2026-10-01 by the early first-word emission rule.)

Update: Submission Limit Increased
Following the competition deadline extension, the total submission limit has been increased from 50 to 68 submissions, accounting for the additional submission allowance of one submission every three days.

Update: SAPC2 Deadline Extension
SAPC2 has been accepted as a NeurIPS 2026 Challenge. The final competition deadline has been extended: August 31, 2026 → October 24, 2026 (AoE).
Participating teams are invited to present at the SAPC2 workshop at NeurIPS 2026 in Sydney.

SAPC2 Accepted to the NeurIPS 2026 Competition Track
We are excited to announce that the Speech Accessibility Project Challenge 2 (SAPC2) has been accepted to the NeurIPS 2026 Competition Track!
SAPC2 is one of 16 competitions selected for NeurIPS 2026 and will conclude with a competition workshop in Sydney, Australia.

Update: SAPC2 Deadline Extension
The submission deadline has been extended: End of April 2026 → August 31, 2026
This extension aims to accommodate ongoing submissions, particularly for Track 2, and teams with pending Data Use Agreements (DUAs). We hope this provides additional time for participation and preparation.

Update: Inference Time Limit (Track 1)
The Ingestion time limit per submission has been increased: 15000s → 21600s

Starter Template Update: Local decoding script is now available for both tracks (Track 1; Track 2). In addition, the Dev_streaming subset for latency measurement is shared through Box, and the corresponding code has been added to preprocess.sh.

Competition Pages & Leaderboards: The Codabench API for (Track 1; Track 2) has been released.

Starter Template: To help you begin, SAPC-template (https://github.com/xiuwenz2/SAPC-template) is now available.

Data Access: Request the SAP corpus via (the official website), by submitting the (DUA) and a one-page proposal to email.
Note: Approval typically takes ~2–4 weeks. Upon approval, access will be immediately granted to the SAP Research Release, which contains most of the same waveforms that will be part of the official competition release, but in a different data format. The official competition release will be made available on 2026-03-01 to early approvals, or immediately once approved after that date.
